Solid Content With Audio Technicalities

This is a great gardening show with lots of informative information and interesting interviews. It's only flaw is with audio technicalities. (Perhaps use Skype for audio interviews and watch those audio levels.)

The audio on this podcast is hard to endure, but worse, the demeanor of the host was at first cloying, but it soon bordered on offensive. While interviewing an author about a book, the author notes that the same tree has two different names, one for England, one for the US. Here, she says, it's named the Sequoia, after the Native American tribe. The host chimes in something about it being good to let our Indian friends have some of the spotlight, although she jokes that it would be nice if "we" could name everything. Something like that. "We"? Then the ads come in, one for some right-wing AARP wanna be group. For a gardening show? Really?Does everything have to get so political? Sheesh. I was really hoping for something wonderful here, something to listen to as I gardened, or, as in the case every Winter, as I dreamed of gardening. And while I can tolerate what others might consider dry, I have no patience for this nonsense.

listener problems

To those who had problems with previous programs, I think you will find the content and quality vastly improved. I took over the show last fall and guests come with a vast range of experts in horticulture. In the world of electronics 5 years is a long time!
I hope we continue to get great reviews
