I’m smarter today
I greatly enjoyed listening to the stories and insights of Toby Groves. He challenges me to reconsider my biases in how I view the world events of my time but more importantly the roles I play as a father, a crew leader and coach. People are worth the investment for us to understand behaviors that we may never choose to make. Toby might encourage me to seek to understand the answers to questions like, “Why is my son acting like this in this situation?” Or, “Why is my crew not getting the work done today? Are we communicating well?” Or, “Why doesn’t this kid not go after the ball?” Toby offers many examples and thought processes to help us reconsider our approach to the roles we live out daily. As he puts it, we often don’t need more information, what we need is a new perspective.
