MFXtra: The Scottish Announce Table – Ep 48.

Duckman and George ‘The Animal’ Peel are back to bring you news and show reviews in the weird world of pro wrestling. It’s a pro wrestling podcast, with a decidedly Scottish flavour. On the show this week…

This is another roller-coaster of an episode folks. Duckman’s Mum had a recent health scare, thankfully she’s fine but it scared the hell out of our feathered friend. Plus Grumpy Duck Senior proves once again that communication isn’t his best skill. Thankfully George is on hand to share a story about his Dad that is both scary and hilarious. And that doesn’t even cover his Dad’s ‘personal reasons’ for not speaking to him – parents be wild, yo. Plus Duckman shares the best/worst excuse he’s ever heard for someone not going to work.

Of course there’s tons of wrestling chat this week. The lads pay a heartfelt and emotional tribute to the late, great, Jay Briscoe. Vince McMahon is back in the news with new law suits against him, and his recent multi million dollar pay out to Rita Chatterson who accused Vince of some pretty disgraceful behaviour against her back in the 1980s. George reviews the 2023 Royal Rumble. Duckman reviews the 2001 Royal Rumble – that’s the one he watched this week! Plus the lads announce the SATP Award winners for 2022 as voted on by you.

The show is wrapped up, as always, with another extract from Hulk Hogan’s autobiography. Join the lads on a hilarious adventure through ‘Fat Head’ Hogan’s school life. Learn about how much he hated PE, how he couldn’t run, but how he still beat up the best wrestler and toughest coach at the school. We hear about Hogan’s early music career, the bands he was in, the bands he wasn’t in but will probably claim to be in, and the weird ‘mom-ager’ he had who insisted on painting daisy chains on his crotch. And we answer the age old question – did Hulk Hogan write The Chain by Fleetwood Mac? Honestly, the lads haven’t laughed this much since the last show when they read Hogan’s book. The big red and yellow brother is the gift that keeps on giving!

So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.

Happy New Year folks! It’s the first show of 2023 and the lads hit the ground running! There’s plenty of catching up to do after the Christmas and New Year holiday. George also turned 40, so there’s lots of chat about getting old, dealing with older parents and the relentless march of time. Basically the lads decide Duckman has Daddy issues and probably needs therapy. But who needs therapy when you’ve got a wrestling podcast to air all your stupidest thoughts and feelings? This is a longer opening chat than usual, but the lads cover all kinds of fun topics and a few deep and meaningful ones too.

It’s not just a Duckman therapy session though, cause there’s loads of wrestling news to talk about. The lads pay tribute to the late Don West, shake their heads in disbelief at the return of Vince McMahon to power in WWE, review 2022 on Wrestling Twitter, and decide on the nominees for the 2022 SATP Awards – which you guys will vote on to decide the winners. The show is wrapped up with another chapter of Hulk Hogan’s Bitterness and Bullshit, as the lads delve deeper into the big red and yellow brothers autobiography. Ever wondered how big Hogan’s head was a kid, or where he kept his rock collection? Well, you’re about to find out! This is a slow burn chapter, but the finish is what it’s all about. Did Hogan hold a grudge against a girl for over 50 years? You’re God damn right he did, brother! A super fun show to bring in the new year, we hope you enjoy!

So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.

Chaos is the only way to describe this week’s show. Something was in the water at the MFX Studios because this show is WILD. We’ve got World Cup chat as the lads catch up over the first few results of what is the most controversial World Cup in history. It’s amazing how quickly you forget about human rights abuses when there’s an exciting game of footy on. Shame on us all. There’s tales of the dumbest crime taking place in Duckman’s home village, he’s also had a brief run in with WWE’s Adam Pearce on Twitter – watch out for vanity searchers folks, they’re pretty lame. There is some wrestling chat on this show as the lads discuss whatever the hell the NWA is supposed to be these days (told you it was a weird show). The lads have a full review of AEW’s Full Gear PPV (complete with Duckman’s PPV snacks detailed) a show they both really enjoyed, but it did have a few weird moments. In all honesty though, there’s only one thing we’re here for – it’s Hulk Hogan’s Bitterness and B******t. The lads read another chapter of the Hulkster’s autobiography and chaos ensues. Only the big red and yellow brother can reduce the lads to tears of laughter. This is easily one of the most fun things we’ve ever done on SATP. Hope you guys enjoy listening to us nearly dying from laughter.

So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.

Can it be true? A new Scottish Announce Table show? With Duckman and George? Talking life and pro wrestling for a few hours? Well, you better believe it bitches! WE’RE BACK! And boy do we have some catching up to do since the last show. George got married! Hear all about his stag-do, his wedding day and all the fun and games that surrounded it! This was a proper Scottish wedding and you guys are going to learn so much about the Scottish people. Duckman didn’t get married, but he did go on another adventure out of The Shire. This time to see Louie CK in Glasgow. Get ready for a tale of edibles, hilarious taxi drivers, a ridiculously funny stand up show, a protest and so much more! Oh and Duckman shares some weird letters he’s been getting from a local Jehovah’s Witness.

Honestly, the wrestling chat is a bit light on this show. This is more about the lads catching up and getting back into the swing of the show. They do cover Vince McMahon, CM Punk and a few other stories, but they’re really excited for a new segment on the show – Hulk Hogan’s Bitterness and B******t – a read through of the Hulkster’s most recent autobiography. Get ready for more lies and laughter than you can handle! This is going to become a show highlight for sure!

Man, it’s good to be back. This is a special show for us, we hope you enjoy. So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.

Duckman has left The Shire again and ventured to the big city for a meet up with this brother. Hear all about their night at a great stand up comedy show, encounters with homeless people, amazing food and the most disturbing and weird overheard date conversation of all time. Be warned – this shit gets dark and weird. Duckman does try to lighten the mood with tales of his Dad and brother embarrassing themselves in a supermarket.

In the world of pro wrestling it’s all about AEW and MJF. The lads review Double or Nothing, talk all the matches they loved, the ones they didn’t and they get all misty eyed thanks to Martha Hart. Of course they talk MJF and his situation with AEW and his contract and his pipe bomb like promo and god damn this guy generates a lot of buzz. There’s some other recent wrestling news stories covered, but this is really the AEW and MJF show.

The lads wrap up with your mailbag questions. Tons of great topics and fun things for the lads to discuss. Shout out to friend of the show Bungle for making this the Bungle Bag with his questions!

This show has everything – plenty of laughs, a few insights and tons of pro wrestling chat. So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.

The lads are back with plenty of random chat about George living in a wrestling village (or maybe it’s all a simulation), Duckman answers tough questions from his nephew – while also struggling greatly with measuring diluting juice and handling two semis. It’s been a strange time for old Duckers recently. We learn about Katie Price using her disabled son to make money at appearances at nightclubs (she’s the worst).

There’s plenty of pro wrestling chat as the lads talk AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door PPV, Freddie Prince Jnr is launching a new wrestling promotion (the lads have doubts), Control Your Narrative is something the lads haven’t made enough fun of, so they change that on this show. The lads talk 20 years of Randy Orton in WWE, plus they are staggered to learn of a wrestling fan being scammed out of his house by what he thought was the real Liv Morgan. The lads talk some big news from AEW and wrap things up with your mailbag questions. There’s questions on tag team wrestling, AEW/NJPW show, AEW’s women’s division, Duckman’s Dad and potential winners of the Owen Hart Tournament in AEW.

This show has everything – plenty of laughs, a few insights and tons of pro wrestling chat. So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.

A Sensational Podcast

I found this podcast very enjoyable. The chemistry between Sir Ian and Duckman is excellent and both give astounding performances. Each of them wounded from previous experiences, not willing to open up to one another. All of this taking place in a point in their lives where they are each struggling to find something more out of life and end up discovering themselves and one another. Eventually, taking both of them beyond the quest of podcast gold.
The Lucy Beale scenes were wonderful and the music scores are incredible.
This is a podcast that I never get tired of and it keeps drawing me back to it.

Never mind the fact that it's pretty much an adaptation of Shakespeare's"Taming of the Shrew"

Very rude

One of the hosts of this podcast were very rude on Twitter. One of them made a badly-done “joke” that sounded so exactly like a smark complaint on Twitter. When I pointed it out, he flipped out angrily and blocked me.

Great listen

These guys really work well together and have quite a wide audience for things they cover. I've been listening to a number of these while at work and they really help to pass the time, especially with amusement.
