Description

The Mind Renewed is hosted by Dr. Julian Charles (UK) and dedicated to understanding the world in which we live from a Christian worldview perspective. We are acutely conscious of propaganda in the mainstream media, and of the bewildering mass of information in the alternative media. We therefore seek to address matters of concern to people (whether they be 'people of faith' or none) in an unsensational and informed fashion, in the hope that truth will be uncovered and that bridges will be built between people through greater understanding. Therefore, whether it be the Surveillance State, the threat of Global Government, False-Flag Terrorism, the danger of New Religious Movements (NRMs), or any other issue too often ignored by the institutional church, The Mind Renewed analyses, interprets and critiques from a Christian worldview perspective.

Promoting a Dangerous Anti-Agenda

To start this off right, I will state that episode 60 is, so far, the only interview that I have heard with Dr. Tim Ball. I like the way that Dr. Charles presents himself but that did not extend to his guest on this episode.

In many ways, I think that Dr. Ball is correct to point out the flaws in climate science. This is a very complicated science that is still in its infancy. Unfortunately, Dr. Ball seems content solely with throwing wooden shoes into the popular perception of climate change science without providing a useful alternative. In this episode, he legitimately pointed out that there has been a lot of missing and incorrect data involved with climate change. What he seems too lazy to have pointed out was that massive efforts have gone into correcting those problems. There are a lot of young, enthusiastic scientists in the field, now, who are pursuing the accumulation and processing of the data like a hound dog pursues a ham hock. Guess what? The more data that accumulates, the more solid the gloomy predictions become. Global CO2 levels are rising. It takes only the barest of science enthusiasts to see that will be a problem. Unless you believe that the center of the Earth is filled with oil, then peak oil is only a matter of time. California and China are only two great examples that, if you disrupt the water cycle in an environment, you bloody well disrupt it! If you pump the water out of above-ground reservoirs and underground aquifers faster than you replenish them you empty them (ask anyone with a bank account). If you let millimeters to centimeters of top soil flush into the rivers and oceans every year, you run out of top soil! If you let your population expand to the point where you can’t support everyone effectively, then you’ve condemned millions, perhaps billions, of people to agonizing deaths (obviously the goal of a peaceful and loving people worshipping a peaceful and loving god).

Peak oil, water, soil all exist. The question is when. The emphasis on peak water is not because the UN is trying to take the attention off faulty climate change claims. It’s because water is (and has) peaked in some areas of the world and military conflicts are beginning over them.

Dr. Ball didn’t speak of his religious views very much but they crept in occasionally and they showed that he was influenced more by his fears of fulfilling the claims of “Revelation” than in solving the environmental problems of the world. Well, Dr. Ball, if Yahoweh made men stewards of the Earth. It’s about time that they started doing their jobs! Who cares if there is a world government? If God wants it to be the Antichrist’s government, then you can’t stop it. If, on the other hand, it has a chance to bring about a better world in the meantime (better than rapacious corporate rule), then stand behind it. Don’t sit on your duff waiting for it! Take action now to make the world a little better after all, the world has waited 2,000 years (so far) for “Revelation”. Perhaps it won’t happen for another 50 years or 5,000 years or a 1,000,000,000 years. Do your part and a greener world is part of it.

And Dr. Charles’ concerns about the change-over from the current economic system of the world to a “greener” one is misplaced. The current economic system is based on expansion. That cannot continue forever, Far better to start switching to a non-expansionistic economy (i.e., sustainable) now than wait until the expansionistic economy fails. And, yes, that includes population control. Yahweh’s command was to be fruitful and multiply. Another one was to steward the land. Responsible and sustainable reproduction is a huge part of stewardship. Don’t believe me? Try adding one family member a year to your household and keeping them there until they die. I suspect that you’ll find it awkward by the time you reach 10 people, dangerous by the time you reach 20 people, and collapsed by the time you reach 30 people. It doesn’t even have to be abortion or genocide. Raise people to make responsible choices, employ and don’t demonize birth control, and take responsibility for the people already on the Earth by making basic living requirements a right for all. That is stewardship.

I really wanted to give Dr. Charles a better rating but this episode was awful!

Great Interviewer

Very insightful. Topics span a wide variety of areas in Christianity and political areas. Don’t always agree but always insightful.

Excellent Podcast! Intelligent with no profanity

Someone recently told me: "Profanity is a Weak Mind's Attempt of making a point strongly." I agree with that saying!
Along with all else, stated by others, the absence of profanity, is amongst what I Love most about this Podcast. Jullian's Impeccable English; his Erudition; Choice of Guests, and disarmingly-humble Style, places "TMR" in a Class Almost all by Itself.
It's too bad that most, otherwise-intriguing, wonderful, "Brainy" Podcasters feel the need to (even the "duty") to use profanity abundantly and gratuitously. Perhaps, I might Re-think how "Intelligent," "Brainy," or "Intellectual" those other Podcasters truly are. Indeed, I've written a few of them asking why defile such (a) great show(s) by cussing every fourth word? One's answer was: "It's our 'Brand', we're Not gonna change..." my Reply was sadly wishing them well, but that they'd just lost a Listener. (They Did). The other one, a VERY Bright Host of an otherwise really excellent Esoteric/Conspiratees-style Show, gave a similar response, he lost me, too.
My Compliments to Julian Charles, his baby, and his Efforts. (I've written him directly, he knows I hold him in The Highest Regards).
(Alas, I do tend to be "Wordy!"🤷🏻‍♀️)
