"Missing Maura Murray" is a true crime podcast about the mysterious disappearance of Maura Murray. Maura was a 21 year old college student in February of 2004 when she inexplicably drove three hours from her dorm in Amherst, Massachusetts to the White Mountains of New Hampshire and vanished. At approximately 7:30pm her car was involved in a single car, non life threatening accident at a hairpin turn on the dark and desolate Route 112. The few witnesses who spoke with police said she denied their assistance. She was gone without a trace before the police showed up approximately ten minutes later. She has never been seen or heard from since. Now two filmmakers set out to make a documentary and find answers on this mystery by diving deep into Maura's life, the region in which she went missing, and the online world of citizen detectives.

Ridiculous! Sad!

I have only listened to 7 episodes. Hopefully it gets better but I’m not sticking around to find out. The guy who is writing a book is ridiculous as well. For instance he says “why would you withdraw $4000 to buy a car. That makes no sense” actually it makes perfect sense to me. He states “who wouldn’t take a personal check?” I have bought a few used cars. Especially from private owners. None would take a check. I wouldn’t take a check when I sold my own cars. He says repeatedly Maura’s father is lying. Horrible thing to say when he has no proof. I think they should stick to the facts. All the speculation gets in the way. I totally understand why they won’t declare her dead. If it was my daughter and there was ABSOLUTELY NO PROOF she is dead why would you declare her dead. I don’t see how that is evidence of anything. It goes on and on and on and on. Pretty sad for her family that people won’t let this go. People disappear all the time. If the family wants to heal their wounds and you won’t let them, what kind of a person does that? Someone who only cares about money, that’s the kind of person. I’m all for making lots of money but not at the expense of others and causing pain to a family. Help not hurt! That should be your motto. Find a case where the family wants your help. So so sad to the point of disgusting! But again I could only stomach 7 episodes. Clearly people are enjoying this junk but not me! I’m moving on to something better! There is plenty of good out in this podcast world!

Missing Maura is missing the mark

I gave this podcast a solid chance, if it got better after episode 5 please let me know. Personally I don’t enjoy all the speculation. It distracts from the story and is messy and misguided.

A lot of speculation

I couldn’t listen to this anymore after the first 4 episodes. Everything is “I think”, “My guess”, “I assume”. I can see why this didn’t make it as a documentary. Compelling topic but poorly executed.
