Description

From Tenderfoot TV and HowStuffWorks, 'Monster: The Zodiac Killer' dives into one of the most notorious, unsolved serial killing sprees in history. Despite sketches, cyphers and taunting letters to the press, the question still remains: who is the Zodiac? While you're here, don't forget to listen to Season 1, 'Atlanta Monster', which tells the true story of one of Atlanta’s darkest secrets, almost 40 years later.

This is already a failure on so many levels

Yet another heavily funded Discovery Channel - How Stuff Works commercial and sponsor loaded podcast from Payne Lyndsey. Lots of dramatization and filler with content engineered to direct the listener to Payne’s point of view rather than actual facts. With all his upfront funding and sponsors I hope that people are smart enough not to donate their money to patreon. Payne already gets a salary from Discovery/How Stuff Works and has this podcast loaded with more sponsor spots/commercials than any podcast should have, so please save your money for the creators who are making great content without Discovery backing, researchers, a studio, engineers and built in sponsors. I’m not a fan of commercially produced true crime dramatizations that are engineered to push a certain agenda or perspective. If I wanted salacious biased crap I would listen to Nancy Grace. Two trailers and one episode full of time filler tricks like recording Payne making a phone call listening to the phone ring, voice mail picking up, playing the automatic message system recording and Payne leaving his message to eat up air time. That along with some carefully chosen racially charged statements and I’m out. I can hear the old school Southern racism dripping from my ear buds and I’m not a fan of that style of storytelling as it’s just is not accurate or necessary to tell this story all these years later in a different time with a different understanding of race in America. This is a story that I know well and in one episode Mr Lindsay has already failed these children and this community.

Hard pass

Payne is only getting worse...
