Why are some countries rich and others poor? This is a fundamental question of economics that has life and death implications for those involved. Taught by prominent economists Tyler Cowen and Alex Tabarrok of Marginal Revolution and George Mason University, this course will cover the theory and empirics and history for the economic growth of developing nations. The course is divided up into "bite-size" chunks (average 5 minutes) that you can listen to at your leisure. Ask questions, chat with the professors and earn a certificate at http://mruniversity.com.
Awesome for anyone interested in learning about how the world works
These MRUniversity are an awesome resource if you're interested in learning about how the world really works--whether or not you think you're interested economics per se. Some of the reviews of thinkers in development economics get a little dry, but for the most part there is something good in every podcast. Just listen to anything that looks like it has an interesting title and you'll probably be hooked.
My only complaint is that I wish there were fewer larger size individual podcasts but it's worth slogging through the downloads for the most part
