It's hosted by Grammy-winning artist Jim Lauderdale, legendary radio announcer Keith Bilbrey and show journalist/interview guy Craig Havighurst. Since going on the air in 2009, Music City Roots has built a worldwide community of lovers of hand-made, real music. We showcase the finest artistry working in or passing through the dynamic Nashville music scene. With old-school radio presentation before a large live audience, artist interview and great audio, MCR is one of the best ways to get a weekly fix of roots music.

Music City Roots

I would love to rate/review this podcast. Where is it???? I subscribed and got nothing.

Not a podcast - just an ad

As of September 2010, there's nothing in this podcast but an advertisement. It's just a way to trick people into downloading & listening to an ad for the show that you can't get on iTunes (or anywhere else, for all I know). Thanks, WSM.

You need to be listening. Now.

Not sure what the previous two reviewers heard when they first reviewed this podcast, but I hope they'll drop back by. This is a great way to plug into new bluegrass, folk, acosticana, rockabilly, cow punk, roots, old-time and string band music. Great sound quality and a welcome antidote to most of what's dripping out of modern commercial radio. Give it a listen.
