My Bad is Our Good Fortune

We all make mistakes in our professional lives, but what do we learn from them? Jon Harper does an excellent job of sharing and getting others to share those moments when they stumbled and how those stumbles changed them moving forward. Great reflective practice that applies to all aspects of life, not just education.

My Bad Leads to Good

I LOVE this podcast. Jon Harper gets people to open up about mistakes they made and how they learned from them. I have always enjoyed his style of writing, and he does an amazing job as a host. This podcast is the best I have heard yet!

My Bad Helps me be Better

I have the distinct honor of not only learning from Mr. Jon Harper through My Bad but also as the Vice Principal in my school. The conversation and wisdom that is imparted trough his podcasts is sincere and the same advice he has given me on many occassions. Has it made me a perfect teacher, not at all but it has helped me to become a better teacher and to realize that we all make mistakes but it is OK to do so as long as we learn and grow from them. My Bad humanizes the art of teaching and lets us all take a deep breath, a step back and examine ourselves in a raw unadulterated wayand expose us to our humanity. Knowing that there are other people out there that have made the same mistakes and have still survived and metamorphesized into not only better educators but better people is cathartic. Thank You Mr. Harper for the gift you have given us of My Bad.
