Description
The My Peace Corps Story Podcast showcases some of the many diverse and vibrant stories of Peace Corps Volunteers, in their own words. Hear the varied experiences had by generations of Americans when they devoted two or more years of their life to national service abroad. While often cited as a positive, life-changing experience, service in the Peace Corps is not easy. This show portrays Peace Corps service as it is, both the good and the bad. The host of the show, Tyler Lloyd, served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Burkina Faso and would “gladly and proudly do it all again.” The difficulties and risks of serving abroad, however, should not be understated or taken lightly. My Peace Corps Story Podcast will captivate you with the personal stories of Americans working and living abroad. Each episode, we explore the cultures, communities, and people that make the Peace Corps an unparalleled experience, filled with stories worth telling. Every volunteer has a story. What’s yours?

Just ordered the book!
Tyler's a good friend, but sometimes it's hard to communicate your experience to those you're closest with. I'm looking forward to reading his more raw account of his time in Burkina Faso in his book along with the stories his guests will share on future episodes of this podcast.
Extending the Spirit of the Peace Corps
There are so many reasons why individuals join the Peace Corps.....but the general global mission is for Americans (US) to learn about foreign culturals and places while giving those arround the world the opportunity to meet, know and interact with people from the United States.
This podcast is an extension of that mission in the way that it allows Peace Corps Volunters to share their experience. These stories can be destributed and consumed in a modern way which broadcasts PCV stories and experiences into the world.
Great job Tyler!
Would be uninformed without this!
I accepted an invitation to PC China in September and I have been relying on this podcast to keep me informed about what life in the Peace Corps is really like. Thank you Tyler for taking on this public service podcast and helping future PCVs all over understand the Peace Corps experience!
