Wonderful Retelling of King Arthur Legends

Paul Vincent began retelling the Greek myths to his children and then, luckily for us, he began recording them for a podcast, Myths and History of Ancient Greece. Now that he's finished the myths and begun on Greek history, he has begun a new podcast about Legends of King Arthur and His Knights. When those are done he'll follow them up with the corresponding British history.

These are great not only for the entire family but for adults as well. Paul Vincent's storytelling style brings a smile to my face because he manages to communicate so much, so simply, but so well. I, for one, have never been able to really keep interest in the adventures of King Arthur after the stone has been pulled from the sword (they do seem to wander a lot, especially for an American like me). However, Vincent keeps them fresh, interesting, and to the point.

This is such a great podcast! I listen while I'm at work, and it's so easy to follow along! I've been looking for a great overview of the book, and I'm so glad I found this!!! The book was just too hard to listen to. It kinda put me to sleep. But I will try reading it as I go along with the podcast. Love it!!!! Keep going!!!!!

Discovered Arthurian Stories I Had Not Heard Before!

This is my favorite podcast thus far for two reasons: 1st the stories themselves are not the usual selection from Malory, but rather from a wider range of sources, which I suspect come from the French Vulgate as well. The podcast has done exceptionally well in preserving Gawain as a hero right there alongside Lancelot (usually other knights are demoted to increase Lancelot's standing). 2nd, I am particular with podcasts and I like the inflection and British accent that the podcaster has when narrating these legends. However, I wish that a filter or better microphone were used in the production, as the audio quality may sound a bit thin.
That is a minor complaint, though, and I truly appreciate all the effort and research that goes into these weekly stories. I find myself inspired in my own feeble writing after listening to these tales-so to the podcaster, a sincere thank you from across the pond and please keep this series going.
