Jason Weiser tells stories from myths, legends, and folklore that have shaped cultures throughout history. Some, like the stories of Aladdin, King Arthur, and Hercules are stories you think you know, but with surprising origins. Others are stories you might not have heard, but really should. All the stories are sourced from world folklore, but retold for modern ears. These are stories of wizards, knights, Vikings, dragons, princesses, and kings from the time when the world beyond the map was a dangerous and wonderful place.

The podcast we deserve

This podcast has a feel of a well produced PBS show. The host's voice is soothing and the retellings are accurate while also being freshened up with modern humor. This is the kind of podcast you don't know you've been looking for until you find it.

Breathing new life into the worlds greatest myths and legends

This podcast is fantastic. I love myth and folklore and this podcast does these stories justice while distilling them into quick digestable segements. Whether it's exploring the original (and far less kid friendly) story of Aladdin or the bloody Viking myths upon which Tolkien's world is based, this podcasts keeps things moving right along with pace and humor. If that's not enough, each episode caps with a great Monster of the Week segement. Well done.

Fantastically addicting

I'm drawn in by the stories, and the pace keeps me intrigued. I would never have the patience to read these myths and legends myself, but the tales are so interesting as a witty podcast. Well-made and well-researched, this podcast is definitely worth a listen. You'll be hooked, too!
