Entertaining and witty. There is so much info given out, in so many fields, that there should be something of interest for everyone. I am no longer listening to music on my ipod. I only hope the program continues past 2005. Never thought that "science" could be so pleasurable/interesting to listen to without being dull (kudos to the hosts). Although I am an American, I enjoy the "cockney" accents of the children that call up.

Superior, accessible science broadcasting.

The Naked Scientists, led by the charismatic Dr. Chris Smith, provide a weekly dose of down-to-earth discussions on various scientific topics. Each week, two or three guest scientists provide expert answers to the sometimes highly-amusing questions called-in or emailed by listeners, patiently shepherded by the perpetually time-short Dr. Chris and his able cohorts. Criticisms of the show are small, but include the rather brief time (one hour) into which a huge amount of information is packed, and the brevity of some answers leaves one often wanting more. This show would definitely benefit by extending the run-time by perhaps 30 minutes. New for the 2005-2006 season is the Kitchen Science segment, in which young children (9 to 11) perform fun science experiments in the kitchen with the aid of Dave and Derek. This new segment, while perhaps less appealing to adult listeners, may provide their children with some fun motivation to learn about science. Parents wanting to expose their children to science would be well-advised to check out the Kitchen Science segment for ideas. In conclusion, The Naked Scientists are hands-down one of the best science podcasts you can find and well-worth the download. Let's hope they're around for many seasons yet.
