Customer Reviews

If nautical and naval history interests you even a little, you'll like this.

Interesting podcast. Great sound quality, nicely leveled and well spoken. I only had a slight interest in the subject, but after hearing the first episode, has made me look forward to learning more.

Gangway for a yar podcast

As an avid reader of the O’brian Maubrey/Maturin series of nautical historical novels this new podcast came as a pleasant discovery.

I agree with lbw2112 above: if you are even slightly interested in this topic you won’t be disappointed by this podcast.

The content is interesting, with broad scope but detailed without losing the themes in waves of minutiae. The host - an author and teacher of some renown, I understand - is well spoken with a pleasing, summoning voice, a measured pace and a touch of humour at times. Clearly in command of his subject. Excellent production values.

I am really looking forward the next episode(s) - I just hope it is not too long in coming.

I'm glad I happened to search for a new history podcast (to add to my two dozen or so) today.

This is off to a really good start. Something about it I tangibly reminds me of Hardcore History, though with a different tone.

I dislike the random background noises added to the track. They're too loud and slightly distracting. Removed or perhaps lowered would be better. But that's just personal preference, a mere nitpick.

Recommended, and looking forward to episode two.
