Peter King - A Reporter

Peter King's storytelling, whether on TV, Podcast form or in the written word, captures the essence of why we follow sports with such intensity and how some of us relate real-time situaions in our lives to the stories which play out on the field within a 60-minute time frame, I think this is why Peter's contributions make us love NFL Football even more because he lets you see "what's behind the WIzard" at the same time he does. That democratic style of storytelling gives Peter credibility with readers, viewers and listeners of all types. In a broadcast world full of "niche" branding such that each Network must have a "communciator" who clicks with some significant audience "demo," Peter's regular guy and intelligent style is reminiscent of what a Reporter is supposed to do. He's just that good. I suppose it's because he is as big of a fan of NFL Football as anyone and that genuine passion cannot be manufactured.

Excellent podcast

Been waiting a long time for PK to do a podcast to compliment MMQB. Great stuff as always

Need to get the sound right

King's first two podcasts have been good. As a Falcons fan, it was great to hear such an in depth interview with Dimitoff. For now, I'll be back for more, but they need to iron out the audio quality. It sounds like he's doing the podcast from inside a tin can. Sometimes, King speaks off the mic. There are many distortions and cut outs. The producers and King need to either hire a qualified sound engineer or figure out how to do it properly themselves. SI should be willing to do this right if they are going to do such a high profile podcast.
