History Of A Horror Icon

The Now Playing Presents of the Friday The 13th series takes a good look back at one of the greatest and well known horror movie franchises. We get to see the evolution of the psycho killer Jason Vorhees and the deadly wrath he has set upon his victims at Camp Crystal Lake. The critics gives us good insight of what the filmakers were thinking when giving each film a certain direction as well as discusssing what was it that was so appealing about Friday The 13th, that it kept calling audiences back for more. Wer'e are reminded of why we loved these films in the first place and why they made us jump, cheer, and laugh all at the same time.

Friday the13th

As stated the review of the series needed alot more research. With all that being said I know we are not talking about "The Godfather" here, but there are way to many inaccuracies and many provided by one of the commentators (Arnie). For example, during the discussion for "Jason takes Manhatten" Arnie refers to actor Peter Mark Richman as the actor who portrayed Dr.Smith from "Lost in Space", even after being questioned he states it is the same actor. There are scenes recalled that are not in the films being discussed..i.e Arnie talking about Jason being chained to a rock at the beginning of pt.8 ( when it was the end of pt.'s 6 and the beginning of 7), and again tells the fellow commentators that they are wrong. A discussion by Arnie about Jason getting the idea to run from from Roy from pt.5 (obviously a joke), but leaves out that Jason ran in pt.s 2-3-4. The retrospective is funny at times, but filled with way to many mistakes on many of the films.

Lots of fun and a great way to pass the time

I listen to these guys at work and I really enjoy what they have to say about the movies. I'm totally digging the Star Trek series and can't wait for them to get up to the Next Generation films. Brock cracks me up. These guys also have a great Clone Wars Cartoon podcast - check that out as well.
