OCR + podcast = awesome

The year was ninety-nine and the world was less fun
for fans of VGM once the credits were done.

Whether expert or novice, there just wasn't a place
for creative takes on every level, fight, and race.

We had Pixy Stix [not tricks!] and our ziron[ium] was cubed
I had never met a fist, despite my shirt from OCU.

It was a time without harmony, injury, and AeroZ too.
I only had one-two-three-four-five-to sounds, like a maze without a dude.

Then a DJ named Pretzel appeared to assault our ears
with tunes from pixel dreams and digital fears.

But not the same stuff that plays right out of the box:
we're talking ReMixes that have a will to rock!

Together with Larry and a sword named Shariq,
they set out to make the online soundscape unbleak.

Suddenly, though wingless, we could weather the sonic storm.
There was Dan good disco and tepid tunes to keep us warm.

Around those songs, grew a community of a kind:
folks like Fishy, OA, DrumUltimA, and bLiNd.

Then two brothers approached like siblings red and green
to take the conversation beyond blue magic screens.

Hailing from Houston, they put on quite a show
if you like awesome music and puns that make you groan.

"What's next," you might ask, "for good, ol' OCR?"
Join the forums to find out [it's not that far].

Whether you're for the Horde, or just crushing sweets,
it's the Twin Bees' knees and the Bomber Man-diggity!

So, remember, kids, wherever you are:
for your VGM fix, go to OCR.

They're doing this right

Whales are Whales have a lot of experience in doing podcasts, and it really shows in this one. They took a topic which really needed a podcast (OverClocked Remix) and made it a full-blown production. The structure is (almost) always the same: secret song, new music from OCR, news, an interview with an OCR member, and a playlist of community-submitted music. But every episode feels fresh in the richness of content, the enthusiam of the hosts, the topics discussed in the interviews, and the bad jokes that are really played up to the point of being funny again. Excellent work here.

Super Kelly Bros.

Two bros that have no shame in their love for video games! I love this show.
