Description

This is Past Tense. This is a history podcast. Pat yourself on the back for getting the ingenious pun and settle back for as close to time travel as you can get without building any complicated machines or risking all existence in a logical paradox.

Great Dive into British History

This is a great dive into British History starting with the Civil War and all its associated conflicts and tensions. It is quite clear Fiona and her team have put a lot of passion, research, and time into this high quality production. Even if you have already consumed Mike Duncan's Revolutions series on the British Civil War there is still much untapped topics that Past Tense explores very thoroughly. Past Tense gives the listener a really deep exploration of the underlying social, political, religious, and personal forces that impacted the Civil War.

If you are a fan of British History (or really just history in general) you will find this series compelling and engaging, well worth your ear time.

Excellent History Podcast

As a podcast fiend, I was very surprised by both the production quality and the intensity of preparation of this series. There is a remarkable amount of detail that is couched in an accessible--and occasionally comic--delivery. This is a tricky period to discuss; more has been written on 17th-century Britain than any other period in English-speaking history. However, the subject matter is handled with masterful care, rendering the complicated into the approachable.
Full marks!
