Some terrorists use weapons. Some use information. The scariest use hostages. Every Thursday, Hostage tells electrifying crime stories culminating in intense, life-or-death negotiations. Within the stories, we examine tactics used by the FBI’s crisis negotiation unit, world governments, and even hostage’s parents, highlighting the techniques that saved lives, and the moments where everything went tragically wrong. Hostage is a production of Cutler Media, and part of the Parcast Network. New episodes release on Thursdays.

Good Content, Weird Choice of Narrators

This podcast does an excellent job at explaining the background of these hostage situations, and do an amazing job at pausing to look at the psychology going on behind the scenes. But what’s with the narration? Why are they alternating sentences read for no reason? It’s weird to have two people taking turns talking without having a conversation between them. The content is good enough that sometimes I can zone out and just focus on the story, but then my minds back on the narrators. Pick one for each episode or story. I’d enjoy things much better that way.

I’m sorry to everyone who can’t unhear them taking turns reading sentences now.

A swing and a hit

Parcast is ruthless in their domination of the podcast landscape, unlike the criminals in this podcast, they take no prisoners.
