Customer Reviews

Useful, efficient, and entertaining

My only suggestion is that I would like the contents line to contain a brief list of what's in each podcast (at least a partial list), so I could listen to the most relevant first, and easily find specific podcasts for repeat listening.

A great literature review tour de force, yet thoroughly engaging

The podcaster manages to keep us engaged eventhough he is going through a huge number of studies. Ordinarily such a mission would make the listeners’ ears “glaze” over. But this podcaster's enthusiasm, interest, intrigue, insights and personality carry us through in a most delightful way. So why did I not give it 5 stars? Because some of his personal ranting and humor-like anecdotes are delivered in way that tells us that he is not a skilled stand-up comic. But that is not to say that he should omit them, they represent the breaks that prevent the podcast from being boring and too information dense. Now if he had the infectious diseases insights he currently has mixed with the acting and comedic skills of Robin Williams then he would automatically get 5 stars. Furthermore, since I am not a birthright American and since I did not attend college in the USA, I do not suffer from grade inflation. Certainly this podcast is in the top 20% of podcasts that I listen to and probably in the top 10% or 5% of medical podcasts.

Excellent Resource

It's refreshing to have a periodic review of the ID literature with some humor as well. The links and references are very helpful in following up on the details. Thanks, Mark, for publishing this useful podcast. If I could only get all our hospitalists and internal med docs to listen.
