Bad Cartoons Still Make for Entertaining Podcast

As I write this review the hosts, Mike and Neal, are still reviewing the Super Mario Brothers Super Show. I never was a huge fan of the Nintendo cartoons, so I rarely ever watched them. I assumed they were bad, or at the very least, not geared towards my age group, even back then. Now that I am middle-aged, that is even more true. Sometimes I'll overlook cartoons and revisit them later to find they were incredible (Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, EXO Squad, Godzilla The Series, etc.) but SMBS is not one of those cartoons. Maybe Zelda, Mega Man, or others will fare better, although I highly doubt it. So while I couldn't stomach watching along, I still tune in for each podcast episode to hear how bad the episodes are, and there are many. The guys follow the Geekcast Radio Network's excellent discussion format that breaks down the episodes, analyze plots, recognize highlights, and even criticize the most horrid or absurd moments of the cartoons. Bad writing abounds in the cartoon series. The guys are a blast to listen to and find a way to make discussions of a show, with so little to say itself, an entertaining podcast that I look forward to every time it appears in iTunes.

Looking Good Guys!

Hey Mike and Mr. Neil, I happened to stumble into this podcast by listening to one of your other podcasts a little while ago. For some reason I could not find it on Itunes right away, so I couldn't listen to them on my Ipod, which is the main source of how I listen to podcasts. I have listened and commented on the majority of the GeekCast Radio Network's podcasts for a number of years now, and GeekCast Radio is my #1 source of podcasting. So far I'm almost done listening to the Super Mario Bros. Super Show portion of this podcast and so far so good. I feel for you guys for how long that series dragged on. It had it's high moments, but overall it was pretty mediocre, especially compared to the future Mario cartoons, at least in my opinion. I didn't grow up with all of these cartoons, but Donkey Kong Country and the two Sonic cartoons were a big part of my childhood. To bad you guys aren't doing Sonic Underground because I feel like that show blended the two previous Sonic Shows together, even though I didn't care for the songs as much. Once again great job, keep doing what you are doing, and I can't wait to see what's in store for your other listeners and myself. Happy Listening.

Give it a chance

When I started this podcast, I wasn't sure if I would be able to keep listening through the whole 100 planned episodes. I'm glad I stuck in there. While Super Mario Super Show was painful to listen to, The Legend of Zelda was a big change of pace. And now we hear about Captain N: The Game Master and I'm eagerly awaiting each new podcast episode. Keep up the great work guys and I look forward to when you get to Sonic The Hedgehog. P.S. If you want a guest host for Sonic, I'm available.
