Description

Planning Period Podcast features Instructional Technology Coach Brad Shreffler interviewing teachers and other school stakeholders. As a podcaster, he is focused on making a guest centered education podcast, not necessarily talking to experts in any field, or focusing the discussions on one topic, but instead having a natural, comfortable conversation with a teacher and seeing where that discussion takes them. #EdBreakroom

A refreshing look at education

I have lacked this type of perspective in education the past couple of years as a teacher.

This type of discourse and problem solving from a Socratic method is one of the most thought provoking and truly engaging podcasts from an educational standpoint.

I’m so glad I have stumbled on it with some time left over in Summer so I can really get inspired and refreshed for the school year. Keep up the great work.

Down to Earth

Whether you’re involved in education or not, give it a try. If you’ve ever been a teacher, had a teacher, or known a teacher, Planning Period is a fascinating listen. Every episode is full of honest discussion that doesn’t hide behind buzzwords. The host and guests present themselves and their ideas well, and (maybe the best part) they tell you real stories.

Outside perspective

Although I am not an educator I find this podcast entertaining and informative. The relaxed conversational tone makes me feel like I'm listening in on an actual conversation between two people in the field of education instead of a rehearsed script between two actors. The host finds passionate educators to interview about the issues and struggles of teachers today. One second I find myself laughing and the other I want to look up something they have talked about. I know this podcast is directed at involving other teachers, but as someone who doesn't work directly in the education field it is still inviting and does an excellent job of teaching.
