Originally started as a podcast about uncluttering your life, "Podcast Without Pretense" is the successor to "Uncluttercast." Eric Sandine, Jonathan Strickland and Iyaz Akhtar discuss anything that pops into their heads. We don't know what we'll talk about until we start recording.
||Podcast Without Pretense Ep. 183 – The Couch Situation||We review "Glitch." It's the movie that had Jonathan Strickland say, "This movie is not good. It's a rom-com with little romance and zero comedy." Special disappearance by Eric's cat.||11/2/2017||Free||View in iTunes|
||Podcast Without Pretense Ep. 182 – After I saw her dead, I didn’t know her name||So it's come to this. There was a murder. A movie. A manilla envelope. Or we talked about yet another awful move, maybe even "#Horror."||10/19/2017||Free||View in iTunes|
||Podcast Without Pretense Ep. 181 – Beverly Crusher bones a ghost||We talked about the first episode of "Fuller House," season 3. Wonder how we got to Beverly Crusher? So do we.||10/12/2017||Free||View in iTunes|
||Podcast Without Pretense Ep. 180 – Top heavy, front-loaded||We reviewed "3-Headed Shark Attack." Why? Because we hate ourselves. Next up is "Fuller House" season three, episode one. Why? Because Iyaz hates Eric (for this week).||10/5/2017||Free||View in iTunes|
||Podcast Without Pretense Ep. 179 – Cults are alright||One of us endorses cults (sort of). Another creates a chimera of movies (sort of). And yet another endorses either or neither (sort of).||9/28/2017||Free||View in iTunes|
||Podcast Without Pretense Ep. 178 – The one where Jonathan pisses Iyaz off||The best new podcast of 2017 is back with a bang. This episode was not brought to you by ReelGood.com, but it could have been.||9/21/2017||Free||View in iTunes|
||Podcast Without Pretense Ep. 177 – No scenes added to the movie||Jonathan, Eric and Iyaz review "Death Race 2050," which is actually the second death racing movie they've covered in the history of PWP. After that, Jonathan devises a new challenge that either is brilliant or evil (or both).||7/20/2017||Free||View in iTunes|
||Podcast Without Pretense Ep. 176 – No transforming in Transformers?||Tonight's episode features the adjectiveless trio talking about all kinds of things including "Vampire Dog," "Transformers: The Last Knight" and bands. Plus, a bonus argument between Jonathan and Iyaz over "Beauty and the Beast!"||6/29/2017||Free||View in iTunes|
||Podcast Without Pretense Ep. 175 – Susan Exposition is my hero||Jonathan and Iyaz review "Vampire Dog." Eric takes a powder.||6/22/2017||Free||View in iTunes|
||Podcast Without Pretense Ep. 174 – That’s not a twist, that’s a straight line||In today's episode, we try to take on "Let's Be Evil." It's a sci-fi/horror-y kind of movie that has a lot of great concepts. The execution is a little less than great.||5/18/2017||Free||View in iTunes|
||Podcast Without Pretense Ep. 173 – The ability to be totally blind||We reviewed "Maximum Ride," not to be confused with "Maximum Overdrive" or "Maximum Drive" (which may or may not be movies at all). If you like bird-related nomenclature, you'll love this movie. If you love movies,||5/4/2017||Free||View in iTunes|
||Podcast Without Pretense Ep. 172 – Carmelized friends on the ceiling||Jonathan, Iyaz and Eric take on "Satanic." No, it has nothing to do with the "Titanic." However, the movie was quite lousy. Here's an alternate title to this episode for your amusement: "Jesus, take the wheel and find a gas station."||4/20/2017||Free||View in iTunes|
No Pretense.....Mo' Pleasure! :-)
Enjoyable.....and represents well the basis for the belief that very interesting, naturally entertaining, and highly intelligent show hosts will almost always produce content that's worth a listen. True here for sure, as the hosts' perspective and presentation even made "Kevin Bacon movies" a worthwhile topic on a recent episode. Ha!
I'm equally as sure that my rather lukewarm opinion of the movie, "Footloose" (starring Kevin Bacon) hasn't changed.....as I am sure that I will indeed continue to eagerly anticipate downloading and enjoying each new episode of "Podcast Without Pretense". Thank you!
Oddly Enjoyable Podcast
The rambling nature of this podcast is completely arbitrary, overly self-effacing and seemingly pointless -- making it much more enjoyable than so many podcasts that operate under the premise that they have well thought-out and valuable content to impart to their listeners.
A breath of fresh air
I heard about your podcast during fourcast's final episodes and I thought I'd try it out because the title was enteresting. I gave it a listen and really enjoyed it. It is unlike any other podcasts I listen to, it flows very well and the hosts are great. I highly reccomend this podcast to anyone that needs to laugh. 5 stars!
