Description

As Bernie Madoff’s $65 billion dollar Ponzi scheme collapsed and the Wall Street financier went behind bars, he left behind a mystery. Hosted by journalist Steve Fishman, Ponzi Supernova is an original audio series that questions how and why Madoff was able to get away with the largest con in history and who may have helped. Drawn from hours of unheard conversations with Madoff from prison, as well as interviews with law enforcement and victims, the series takes a hard look at what happened while tracing still unfolding effects.

I had no idea. FASCINATING.

I wasn't interested in Bernie Madoff until Steve Fishman's series sucked me in. With it's mischievious, pulp (non)fiction style, and a dazzling score by Mike Cruz and Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche and with bassist Darin Gray, the Audible series goes down easy like a fizzy soda but packs a punch like someone slipped you something much harder. The investigative reporting here is deeply sourced - newly obtained depositions give some very fine and infuriating detail to the picture of how funds and banks kept their heads in the sand while holding their hands out and lining their pockets. MUST LISTEN.

Woa

A sleek, chilling and needed listen for anyone curious about how one of the biggest financial implosions went down, and anyone hopeful of sparing ourselves from another one in the future. Excellent production. Dogged reporting. Quality hijinks.
