Prima Facie is a fortnightly law & order podcast, hosted by an actual real life ex Victoria Police officer and an actual real life lawyer. Both hosts are incredibly witty, handsome, charming and very, very modest, or maybe not but they do know a lot about the law, a lot. Ron was an actual detective in the Victoria Police Force and David wasn't, but has always wanted to be but has to settle with the fact that he is a lawyer admitted to practice in the state of Victoria. Since we both come from different law "worlds" discussion is often (maybe almost always) fiery, and whatever you do, don't mention Uber...

Substantive arguments and bitchy fights

"Mate, you are such garbage; you are such a garbage human being," is the second sentence out of David's mouth in Episode 28; his foul mood undermines significant portions of this Australian podcast as a whole. Co-host Ron, from the law enforcement/citizen perspective, likes to poke fun at legal idiosyncracies and government hypocrisy but is equally passionate about the issues as David is, a lawyer without a sense of humor and not shy to sound like a petulant child - a favorite comeback is "Whatever." The extremely compelling dialogue and detailed content is frequently derailed by bitchy attacks and it is usually Ron's benign temperament bordering on masochism that gets the program back on track.

Despite the truly wearisome hissyfits from David - which cost one star - I enjoy the provocative topics and the knowledgeable exchanges so much as to always look forward to the next episode.
