An ongoing conversation on the intersection of faith and public life, based here in the birthplace of American Freedom, Boston, Massachusetts. The most significant study of the Jewish community, A Portrait of American Jews, by the PEW Research Center in 2013, reinforced a reality that Temple Israel has understood for more than a decade: a mandate for institutional change. Temple Israel has a rich history of developing innovative approaches towards engagement. Pulpit on the Common establishes a new setting for the content and conversation that was once situated on the pulpit – making the pulpit accessible anywhere, anytime, to anyone.

My God this is Sweet

Wow, what a great idea. Great people getting great ideas into the atmosphere. Exploring these prevalent and powerful issues through a lens of faith brings an added level of sophistication and intellect to the conversation. Also, totally savage and on fleek

Thank you for making this podcast! I'm so excited to see where it goes. Reform Judaism and social justice is a pair that is not talked about enough. L'chayim!

About time!

Kol HaKavod, Rabbi Soffer, for realizing that the "lowering of the pulpit" does NOT diminish the role of the rabbi, but actually increases his/her ability to engage and know the congregation.
I look forward to this podcast! It is in line with Dr. Ron Wolfson's Relational Judaism, and my own efforts in Allentown, PA to re-purpose the synagogue as the host of "Conversations That Matter."
