Description

Radio Happy Hour started in June 2009 with a monthly residency at the NYC's (Le) Poisson Rouge. Radio Happy Hour is a live-mystery-meets-late-night-talk-show, that engages guest stars in wildly right-angled conversations that careen between interviews, performances, and an audience quiz show. At the center of the show is an old-time radio murder mystery/comedy, where the guest star is written into the storyline as him or herself. Past shows have seen Norah Jones as a motel manager; Michael Showalter as the host of his very own cable fitness show; Andrew W.K. as the iconic John Bender character from The Breakfast Club; Tunde Adebimpe (TV on the Radio) as the founder of a wilderness camp for ineffectual men; Kumail Nanjiani as a ventriloquist with a southern dummy; Craig Finn & Tad Kubler (The Hold Steady) as brothers and Chuck Klosterman as their dad on a doomed road trip to a small town called Manhattan, Minnesota. (New podcasts come out monthly, despite the fact that the dates are mixed up on the iTunes feed.)

perfection!

very witty and delightful. i've seen radio happy hour performed live twice, and both times was bowled over by how talented and hilarious the host, cast, and featured guests are. it's absolutely charming and reminded me what true entertainment is, and can be. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

LOVE Radio Happy Hour!! Too funny!!

What I love most about Radio Happy Hour is that there is nothing else like it out there! I've listened to all the podcasts and was able to go to the last show, with Craig Finn & Tad Kubler of the Hold Steady and Chuck Klosterman, which was a blast! Sam, the very funny host, engages the audience throughout and gets his guests to participate in some crazy murder mysteries! I absolutely love the fake commercials! They are hilarious and totally off the wall and it is amazing that the guests take part and are willing to make fun of themselves! Everyone should listen!

Better than...

...Marmite on toast. Loved the RHH that I attended in NYC and have been listening live from London ever since. Loving your work! B
