Episode 332: Dave Gebroe of Discograffitti discusses The Mamas and the Papas

Dave Gebroe from The Discograffiti Podcast joins us to go back to the '60s to discuss the second Mamas and the Papas album. Yeah...we skip right over the previous album that has "California Dreaming" and "Monday, Monday." Fair warning...Wayne and I didn't love the album so that makes for some fun discussion because Dave LOVES this album and loves the band. Dave loves them so much so that he has Michelle Phillips from the band on his podcast for a marathon 15 hour interview. Yep. 15 hours!  Check out this episode then check out Dave’s podcast as well!Check out The Discograffitti Podcast at:  https://discograffiti.com/Check out The Mamas & The Papas here: https://www.themamasandthepapasofficial.com/

Episode 328 - Scott McCaughey discussed Young Fresh Fellows "The Men Who Loved Music"

Episode 328 - Scott McCaughey discussed Young Fresh Fellows "The Men Who Loved Music"

Growing up in the Northwest, the Young Fresh Fellows were our Replacements.  Our Big Star.  Our "fill in the blank for the band that never got the due they deserved."  They were an American Band that just played some good time rock 'n roll.  And, Scott McCaughey was the driving force for the band.  He's done alright for himself along the way...being a part of R.E.M. for years, The Minus 5, The Baseball Project.  Scott is a legend.  So, when I had a chance to be self indulgent in discussing both baseball (based on the Baseball Project's latest record) AND "The Men Who Loved Music" with Scott....well...I think you can probably tell that I was super pumped to have the opportunity.   We dig through the stories behind the songs on the album...and relive a little of that time period in the '80s (shout outs to PLU, Amy Grant, The Fastbacks, Dave Niehaus and more).  Even if you're not familiar with Scott or this band, I think you'll enjoy the conversation.  Check out Young Fresh Fellows at:  http://www.youngfreshfellows.net/Check out Minus 5 at:  http://www.minus5.com/Check out The Baseball Project at:  http://baseballproject.net/

One of My Favorites

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows. I love the authenticity and feel of it. And it’s nice to find people like me that think music matters. Thank you for what you do. This show makes a big difference in my life. Oh, and I am wearing my Violent Femmes concert T-shirt while writing this.

Thoughtful Conversations with Interesting People

I love this show. Ben and Wayne have the coolest guests and ask them to take a deep dive into the music that has shaped their lives. Records Revisited is a great way to find your new favorite band.
