May well be one of Tawni's best yet
So far, after just two chapters: Brilliant. What touches me most about Tawni O’Dell’s writing is that—from Harley in “Back Roads” to Danny in “One of Us,” and now as Theo in “Rewrites”— she has mastered the male idiosyncrasy. And unless you’ve lived inside the opposite sex for a lifetime, gynic writers rarely grasp andric intimacies so convincingly (and that applies conversely, of course).
As a writer (and male) myself, I recognized the quirky ways I think of people and their actions, tinged with sly lampoons shaping Theo’s observations and interactions with other characters. I admire Tawni’s clever infusion of satire in her personalities: bright, fast-thinking minds that can match wits with any character on (considering just two recent examples) ”Arrested Development” or “Modern Family”—among the best-written comedic series’ ever.
I really look forward to hearing how “Rewrites” plays out. This gifted writer creates such compelling stories that you can’t not keep turning the page. (Or in this case, tapping the next Play button.) Give it a try. Help keep books alive and thriving! We’ll all be PLeased you did.
So intrigued! Can't wait for the whole thing!
I listened to the first episode of this for free and am so intrigued. I love the idea and the execution promises to be funny and fresh. Hope to hear the rest of it soon! Tawni O'Dell is one of my favorite authors. I love her books. This promises to be just as good.
Heartwarming, heartbreaking, wonderfully funny and brilliantly written! As someone who writes and reads a lot, it inspired me to do both of those things even more.
