New York Times best-selling novelist Scott Sigler gives away all of his stories as free, serialized audiobooks. Described as "Stephen King meets Michael Crichton meets Chuck Palahniuk," Scott's stories of hard-science horror will have you tapping a vein as you Jones for next week's fix. Subscribe to hear major-release hardcover novels read by the author, as well as short fiction and the "FridayFix," a random piece of weekly nonsense. For more info on the author, visit

You will find yourself pointlessly driving around just to listen to Sigler.

First off let me say that Scott Sigler is NOT for children. old people, cute furry animals, or goldfish. It is meant for Adult audiences that can handle blood and gore and for those people alone. Mr Sigler is an excellent storyteller who knows how to build suspense, build characters and make them real, and he can build one hell of a storyline. He does all of this while still retaining the "science" aspect of science fiction. I started with Earthcore and have faithfully listened to and enjoyed Ancestor, Infection and now The Rookie. I hate sports. I hate football even more. I still really enjoy this podcast. It has several "hitchikers guide" type aspects and if you know Mr Sigler then you know there are plenty of hidden references to his other works and short stories that make this story fun for longtime junkies. (junkie is a reference to his fanbase, we are junkies and like it). I would recommend going back to Earthcore and listening to all of his podcast novels in order. You should also pick up his stories on other podcasts, like escape pod. Please give him a try, if you like sci-fi then you will like this.

Infection / Ancestor / Earth Core

Scott is one sick person, really sick, but the stories are so engrossing that you can’t help but be sucked into them. I eagerly await each week’s podcast to see what’s going to happen next. Scott tells a great story, and each one is better than the last. I would be lost without my weekly vile of Infection! Be ware, this is NOT for kids, as he says, This podcast contains Adult Situations, Language and LOTS and LOTS of Violence, and he means it! LOVE IT!!

His Ego Outweighs Anything Else

Sigler's writing style is acceptable, if a little lazy. The main problem with the podcast is his immense egotism regarding everything related to his writing. He really thinks that people are rabid for whatever he's producing. This egotism extends to the narration, which also seems styled to convince us of just how cool he is. If you like your writing without the preface of arrogant ranting, skip this one.
