Fun and fair reviews of shows

Only 5 episodes in and I'm really enjoying this show. You can tell how familiar the hosts are with each other, and how their experience as writers and artists help shape what they pay attention to as they watch these shows. Not only is this podcast a good yardstick for if you should watch the show - it also serves as an interesting retrospective for series you've already seen. For example: I'm a huge fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender, and I really enjoyed listening to the hosts use their familiarity with animation to give me context for how revolutionary that show was at the time. And to discuss what roots were planted in the first season that eventually bloomed. But they don't spend the entire time gushing. All of their episodes include a fair look at what worked and didn't work in these first seasons, which was refreshing for someone a little burnt out on endless cynicism or boundless joy. I really recommend picking the show you know the best, listening to that episode, then expanding from there. Highly recommended.
