Gay. Funny. Smart. Funnysmartgay!

Sermonarian tells tales of bad haircuts, coming out, freelancing, 80's music, writing, food--in short, all stuff I live and love day to day. The added bonus of this are her short story episodes--great pieces of gay fiction and science fiction. Awesome add to my podcast feed!

Hilarity ensues. Also deeper emotions.

These are really hilarious, thought-provoking podcasts. They tell very specific stories; at the same time, they are full of points of connection for people who have had very different life experiences than Sermonarian herself. And the 1980s references? They can't be beat!

Amusing and Honest? Weird

The Sermonarian is a mix of humorous personal essays and SciFi short stories. The essay parts are short, frank, personal and universal. And, man, the Sermonarian is funny. Although the themes are occasionally about growing up LGBT in America, mostly they're just about trying to get on with this whole living thing. Fondakowski's SciFi short stories remind me of Octavia Butler's work; character and concent driven. Like all good SciFi, they are about what makes us human. Give the Sermonarian a try. You won't regret it.
