Great show, Great cast!

Mannnnn, I’ve recommended this podcast to so many folks now. To folks who are looking for an L5R group to play in but can’t find one. For those are about to play but want to get a feel for how others play at the table. For GMs who are brand new to the setting. This is a good show.

I once recommended it to a fellow who said that he was picky about his actual play podcasts. He said that he hates it when the table is too jokey and then all the sudden “here comes the batman!”.

No, this podcast does a great job of delivering story. It cuts out most of the mechanics talk, (so sorry, you won’t learn how to “roll the dice” in L5R), it cuts out the OOC talk (and I know these dudes are friends who can go on and talk, just listen to the cinema episodes), and whatever humour is does have (as it’s a samurai drama) is situational humour and does not detract from moments that needed to be serious.

This GM is serious about his product, he engages with his fans to see how they feel about the content, he even includes them in some of the episodes. He’s constantly improving as a GM and yet he’s still humble enough to be a little abashed when he’s approached by fans.

Listen to the show, give it a good three episodes at least, let it grow on you.
You won’t be disappointed.

Best actual play yet.

The first episode sounded great. No extraneous dice rolling, no coughing, no chewing, and nobody seemed to fluctuate in distance from the mic. All in all, I am well pleased. The knowledge of the PCs about the land was great.

Amazing drama, intriguing conspiracies, and visceral thrills

Shadow of the Cabal is one of the best dramatic Actual Plays our There. The first campaign, a conspiracy samurai thriller, was a fantastic story that’s incredibly satisfying. With their new mini-campaign of Night’s Black Agents, it only continues for fun stories that continue to be gripping. Excellent audio quality and a clean approach to the games only help, leading to a pod I eagerly await release for.
