Shaun Daily and Blog Talk Radio

What I find so amusing about Shaun Daily and his show is how clueless he is when it comes to the television industry. All he ever does is read press releases/ratings reports from other news print sources and has knowledgeable guests in TV journalism and blog-sphere to support his show. Okay let me back track and give credit, he does have some knowledge and knows what’s going with television shows but the series he supports I feel are bottom feeders. It’s only when his guest’s brings up shows like Mad Men, Damages, Dexter or Breaking Bad does he kick in with commentary for me that’s noteworthy. As I said before, what I do like is he does shore up his shows with strong TV critics and writers who use the show as a platform to express their thoughts, feelings about TV and the industry as a whole. Kate O’Hare of Zap2it is amazing, Damian Holbrook of TV Guide Magazine is a hoot, April MacIntyre is solid from Monsters and Critics and John Kubicek from Buddy TV is terrific. And finally, I do have to say this because it really irks me is how technology challenged or unprepared Shaun is on the air. His nervous laugh and constant apologies just makes me cringe. I thought he was just new to the medium and was still working the kinks out of his show. But now over a year later he still comes across unprofessional, challenged and listeners have taken notice. My suggestion is why don’t you have a producer in the background helping you and making sure the show runs smoothly? It’s obvious this is a shoe-string show, but someone with tech savvy would help. Let’s hope 2010 is a better year for Blog Talk Radio and Shaun Daily’s show.
