Our goal here at the Snow-Covered Lands podcast is to take a look back, a retrospective, at older Magic the Gathering sets through a commander lense. We’ll talk mechanics, legendaries, some of our favorite cards, and some of the art we really enjoyed from these sets. Then, each host will build a deck based around either the mechanics from the set, or a legendary, so long as it has the feel of the set we’ve covered that week, and have a chat about our decks.

Episode 12: Mirrodin
Hello Internet, and welcome to Episode 12 of the Snow-Covered Lands Podcast!
Apparently doing a large and well-loved set last week was just not enough for us, as this week Nick and Eric are covering another one: Mirrodin!
For a set that is known for it's artifacts and extremely high power level, Mirrodin is actually a very unusual set full of cards that are 'build around' in just the way us Commander players love. There are few mechanics and legendaries in this set, so the majority of the show is just a deep dive into all sorts of wackiness (and, as it turns out, some of Nick's most hated cards! I'm looking at you Mind Slaver..).
