An absolute joy

I've always been intrigued by the south and southern culture. Being from the PNW I've never had a chance to visit but I hope to someday. I love this podcast cause of the insight and knowledge the hosts bring to the conversation/analysis. I find it enjoyable and enlightening to learn about the southern way of life, as well as the realities of a place that I confess I have romanticized. Anyway I hope Mandi Kaye & Kelly Lee continue to make more episodes and if I may, I have two suggestions for movies to review. First, young Reese Witherspoon's debut in the film The Man in the Moon, and the second is Kasi Lemmons' classic Eve's Bayou. Thanks again for creating this podcast!!

I’m not Southern but love listening to this

I’m not from the South but I love movies and analysis of movies. Listening to these two Southern ladies dig deep into movies influenced by Southern culture is really fascinating to me. And they both have absolutely lovely voices for podcasting - a delight to listen to!

Southern Fried is BONAFIDE!

What a charming show! I just listened to the "Indict Me, Reverend Roy" Episode. As a "yank" from Portland Maine, I could pretty much listen to hosts Mandi and Kelly talk about anything in their delightful southern accents. I love that they are rivising some of my favorite movies and thinking about them through the "Southern" lens. This show is pure Southern comfort food:)
