Great to hear a Star Trek live play podcast in the sea of Dnd ones. Really excellent cast and GM, excited to see where this goes!
This is so good! One of the best actual-play podcasts out there!
I've listened to nearly 200 different actual play podcasts, and the Neon Rival network is currently making some of the very best podcasts! Not only is the cast hilarious, but they are talented in making their characters come alive in dramatic and entertaining ways that very few other podcasters can achieve. This particular podcasts follows the exploids of some of the least talented graduates in Starfleet Academy (Star Trek), and is a delight to listen to.
If you're not familiar with actual play podcasts or collaborative storytelling. The players tell a story together through a roll-playing game, guided by the game master, where dice rolls are used to introducing a degree of randomness and drama into the story. This particular actual-play is superbly made, with clear audio, wonderful music and sound effects, and serious attention to detail.
(Note: the other podcasts from Neon Rival are all worth a listen, including Dungeon Rats, Neon Rivals Presents Tomb of Annihilation, and Godsfall)
🎵You’re the best, AROUND🎵
I’m a big Neon Rival fan, and it turns out I didn’t need to know much about Star Trek to enjoy this show. Which is good because I’ve never been a Trekkie. It’s a lot of fun and the cast is great!
