Start Here Rocks!

I have listened to all of the start here for web development episodes and they have given me a solid foundation to build my skills. I am excited to see another podcast from Start Here that will teach me even more!

Blew me away actually

I'm learning to code late in life, at 47. I'm an autodidact and hardcore fan of lifelong learning and skills acquisition, and I have to say, this episode's emphasis and primer on "absorbing the context," and its relationship to Social Intelligence, was one of the smartest things I've ever heard, in any podcast, ever. Not only is it extremely helpful to get a grounding in the relevant landscape, but it also conveys an important concept for general learning of complex and culturally laden things (like, say, business culture), that I've never encountered before. Also, a remarkable understanding of the beginner's mind... it's like they had done a Vulcan mind meld regarding my overwhelm with trying to understand how the pieces fit and where to jump in. And then, to deliver a prescriptive checklist of how to start. Brilliant and motivating. Can't wait to resume the pedagogy on episode 3!

Great Stuff!

I’ve been trying to get into a bootcamp that is Javascript on the backend and front end and having a hard time with the admission process. All the other schools in NYC are ruby-centric, and I felt like I was starting over learning Ruby (yes I have the resources to do a bootcamp). This helped me get excited about learning Ruby and get me on the Ruby track. Also loved the other Start Here series. Thanks again for this!
