I quit my law job to be a stay-at-home dad with my kids. Turns out my daughter Tess has special needs. She's different. And now, so is everything else.

Simply Awesome !!

Great podcast ! I have read a couple of Bo Bigelow’s books including, Concessions, and other blogs of his, which are all really good. This just ups the ante for Bo - awesome to hear him in his own voice. Feels like something all parents can relate to! Got to respect a man who admits that swearing makes him feel better !!

Great podcast! I really respect Bo as a parent, but what an admirable person he is too! His podcast is hilarious, as well as comforting that other people have rough times too! Can't wait for his next podcast!

Bo Bigelow's blogs about life with Tess are an altogether astounding and inspiring account of the experience of caring for his special needs little girl. Hilarious, heartbreaking, and inspiring. I can imagine for anyone who has similar challenges in life as raising a special needs child, it serves to bring the solace and solidarity that comes with common human experience shared. But also- for those who do not have the blessing of special child like Tess, Bo's blogs inspire us to rise above any to life's challenges - whether they be brutually difficult and long - or merely trivial- by keeping perspective. Bo's narrative style flows beautifully and engages immediately. And as I have read Bo's perspectives on life with Tess, I have often been reminded of something I read written of St. Thomas More, another lawyer like Bo who was gifted with a keen mind, a fluid pen, and above all a warm heart:
"If laughter is, after all, our response to the gap between what is and what should be, then a finely tuned sense of humor is often the distinguishing mark of clear vision -- the kind that sees this life sharply with all its incongruities, yet sees as well the possibilities and implications that lie hidden beneath the surface. " (Paul Thigpen)
Please write on, Mr. Bigelow... The world needs to share your journeys with Tess.
