Customer Reviews

Disappointing

Sometimes engaging, but often exploitative.
While the cases themselves are interesting, key facts are missing or incorrect in several stories I'm familiar with. The host seems very comfortable using clinical diagnoses as insults, and frequently stigmatizes mental illness in broad, sweeping terms.
He often seems to revel in the depravity he decries. The choice to play audio of victims being tortured and killed is ethically questionable at best, and highly insensitive to the victims' families.
Hopefully the podcast improves with time, and can mature into something with more integrity.

Top notch podcasting at its best!

Arguably the "best" sounding Social Sciences genre PODCAST available on iTunes! Engaging, informative & well crafted. Mike Boudet hits a home run! Tune in now before the corporate entertainment complex snatches Sword and Scale up - then you'll be able to say " I was right there from the very beginning" to all your friends!

Uninsightful, Unprofessional, Lacks Discussion

This podcast is basically just a review of gory details of horrific crimes by a narrator who seems to be relishing the details. Reminds me of Bill Hader doing “Real Life Crimes” on SNL. They also play unnecessarily long excerpts of unoriginal recorded material that they have pulled from other sources. There is very little insightful discussion of… anything. There is some relevant guest commentary, but nothing on the level that I expect from a professional podcast. I also noticed that they don’t bother acknowledging, let alone correcting, details about events that they get wrong. I found the whole experience really off-putting.
