Description

We believe the more we all talk about how f****d up we are, the more normal we all feel. We are sure of it. Since 2010, Taboo Tales has been bringing f****d up stories to stages in LA and NYC and watching audiences and performers leave looking relieved and way more normal. We’ve covered everything from living with HIV to being born without rectal muscles to going blind at 18 to being forty and lonely. All stories must be way too honest for most people and, of course, funny. Because life is always funny. The podcast brings storytellers into the studio where hosts, Corey Podell and Laurenne Sala, grill them even further for more juicy details. Find out more at tabootalestheshow.com

Great Podcast

Great live show taken to the airwaves. Give it a listen!

A True Gem

A true hidden gem of a podcast! It's kind of a hybrid of Moth and Postscript. If you are hungry for a good story, especially one that you haven't heard before, you'll enjoy this podcast. I just stumbled upon it last week and have listened to half a dozen episodes so far. Each one is a fantastic personal story told with a great sense of humor. The topics range from dating disasters to breast cancer, from quests of spiritual enlightenment to the occasional sexual adventure. If the word "taboo" alarms you, know that the point of the stories is never to shock you or make you blush (although it does happen sometimes as a side effect), but to inspire you, to make you think, laugh, and think again. When there are R rated materials, they are handled gracefully. All the stories I've listened to are authentic, intelligent, and VERY funny. Some stories are profound and stay with me for a long time after I listen to them. I've enjoyed the podcast so much that I want to go to a live show (since I live in LA it'd be rather convenient). If you love stories, you can't go wrong with this podcast!
