old hippie

I adore David Shuster! Love hearing him on Stephanie Miller, and am so delighted to find him with his own show! WooooFNHooooo! Maybe our long lost Keith will show up as a guest - hint, hint - that would rock my world.

More Karl Frisch Please!

I wasn't sure how Take Action News would go with a change of hosts, but Karl Frisch is great! His show is the perfect mix of humor and progressive talk. I'm already hooked.

Why I Love Take Action News: A Producer

As Executive Producer of Take Action News, I am obviously a partial critic. But if I didn’t genuinely love the show, I wouldn’t stick around.

Here’s why I think Take Action News is some of the best political talk radio out there:

--Shuster strikes the perfect balance between tough, nonpartisan journalism and passionate editorializing when his principles demand it. For example, David challenged Senator Sherrod Brown’s claims about the absenteeism of his opponent Josh Mandel, and in the same show, he called for a boycott of BuzzFeed for deliberately posting a live TV suicide.

--Awesome guests and analysis. We have everyone from Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), to Ai-Jen Poo, President of the National Domestic Workers Union, to Dave Zirin, Sports Editor of The Nation, speaking frankly in a way that you rarely hear on, let’s say, cable TV. Our regular commentators include Charlie Mitchell, a veteran Congressional reporter and former Editor-in-Chief of Roll Call, and Alan Rosenblatt, the original gangsta social media guru.

--A focus on activism. Our corporate responsibility segment highlights how we can make consumer choices that align with our values. In our Activist of the Week segment, we talk to people dedicating their lives to make the world a better place, and find out what inspires them. We’re always looking for ways to help listeners get off the sidelines and into the game of our messy democracy--whether it’s voting, protesting, becoming more environmentally conscious, or just being more informed.

Finally, we always have fun--and it shows!
