She's been where I am...and I can respect that

I have struggled with my desire for alcohol for the last 10 years in a way that I don't feel categorizes me as an alcoholic. This leaves very few options when looking to slow down or get a handle on my drinking (in some circles, my "issue" would be considered a joke, so most of the time it gets laughed off when I bring up my desire to take a break or even quit). It's been a difficult journey full of self-recrimnations and self-loathing after a night of using alcohol as a social crutch or, really, just to unwind (why do I need a substance to help me relax?!) because of the inevitable side effects. Listening to Rachel has helped me to feel so much better about myself. I am not a "bad" person because of alcohol... "Alcohol is morally neutral" is the most freeing phrase I've heard in a long time. Because she's been there and she gets it, I can really hear her... you know? She's not talking AT us, she's talking TO us. If you're on the fence, listen.

Finally! Someone gets it!!

SO happy that there is someone talking about taking control of drinking alcohol without having to turn to AA or complete abstinence for ever. "Alcohol is morally neutral" - LOVE that!
Rachel tallks about the issues that affect the "over drinker" and offers effective tools to make the changes that I have been wishing to make, but failing over and over again. I am thrilled to have found this podcast!! Thank you Rachel

Don't miss it!

Loved this podcast as a follow up to Rachel's awesome book. If you have any habit you want to stop, she's got the goods on how to get you the results you want!
