Great stories in a compact format

great characters and great stories. love the atmosphere. Sounds like the game system allows for more story elments and less time looking at a player sheet trying to figure out what to do, as a player that sounds awesome!

Interesting ideas, but falls flat

If you think about what makes a good actual-play podcast, it’s maybe 1/3 the personalities, 1/3 the story, and 1/3 the system. Here, I feel like the hosts do an OK job with the first two — they’re obviously having a lot of fun doing voices and such, and they bring some interesting story elements to be explored. However, in many places the dialogue seems forced or rushed — you don’t really connect with the characters or get a chance to “live in the world” that they’re creating. That brings me to the system: it’s a simplified version of games like D&D. Like the storytelling, it has some very interesting ideas — “boil blood” spells, puzzle traps, and actions that trigger other actions. However, it’s very mechanics-heavy. And the mechanics, being simplified, get very repetitive very quickly. There’s definitely some potential here, but not enough for me to recommend it out of the gate.

>cat videos

I laughed, I cried, I subscribed. Let's just say that listening to this podcast is better than watching cat videos on Youtube. That's the highest praise I could ever give someone.
