Culture as if humanism and hope mattered
Doug is one of few public intellectuals with a will towards a positive future and the history background to talk about what is and is not healthy cultural change.
Doug does what corporate media avoids; keeps truly human values at the forefront of discussion.
Few other places where you can hear how to preserve existing workable public commons, create new ones and the cultural shifts needed to create neighborhoods and communities where worker-owned enterprises can take root and unfold.
His many books are also worth your attention.
Douglas Rushkoff: Deep Cuts
Finally, a central place to find Mr. Rushkoff, and his guests, riff off the themes explored in his book "Throwing Rocks at the Google Bus". Since the book has come out, I have been searching YouTube, other podcasts, and any other bit of interviews I could find featuring Mr. Rushkoff talking about the the themes of his book but could never find one that did a deep dive into one idea. Team Human is doing these deep dives and coming up with resources and solutions that can help us take the fight offline, into the real world, where people and not programs can create change.
Fascinating
The podcast is an excellent extension of Rushkoff's books. Nobody seems to know how best to solve the problems that plague team human, but this podcast is a rare example of people offering prescriptions rather than endless diagnosis.
