Old fogies attacking young people for not being conservative

Listened to the episode with Mark Bauerlein. I have never hear a more risible conversation which perfectly encapsulates the caricature of an old man yelling “get off my lawn.” Bauerlein and Plotkin spend their time stereotyping and mocking the millennials. They fail to offer any real suggestions on how to remedy the alleged shortcomings they mock. Nor do they go in depth on why they particularly hate the young generation.

Bauerlein’s statistics have been countered by ones which show that in general IQ scores have risen over time. Maybe the reason Bauerlein and the host are so willing to attack the millennials is because they are the most diverse generation. Furthermore, Bauerlein is a noted Trump supporter and every complaint he has about the youth—they don’t read; they have a short attention spans; they constantly use social media; they lack discipline; they are uncurious—is typified by Trump. Plotkin wholly fails to challenge Bauerlein on the fact that all of his complaints are embodied in a man he champions. This signifies Plotkin agrees wholly with Bauerlein or is an intellectual coward unwilling to call out this level of hypocrisy.
