Great job and great podcasts.

Nice mix of MLB, prospects and general topics. I'm a fan.

Really well-done and informative. A must.

I stumbled across this podcast when they were on their fourth episode, and I'm glad I did. It's not a typical baseball podcast, in that it's hard to tell exactly who they're marketing to. It's not just for fantasy players, it's not just for prospect guys. They cover a whole lot of stuff in every episode. All three clearly have an advanced grasp of sabermetric concepts, and they point things out about players that even hardcore fans normally don't think about. They also cover a TON of ground in their shows, as they can go from big stories to totally unheralded players within the span of a few minutes, and keep you interested the whole way. The one negative thing I'll say is that their special episode on top 100 lists seemed to take them out of their comfort zone a bit. But in their regular format, these guys are a great listen who will keep baseball fans of all stripes interested for the full hour every week.

Name is misleading, but it's very good for what it is.

You see the name "The 20-80 Report" and you expect to get a very scouting-oriented podcast that is entirely about minor league players. It becomes very clear very quickly that that's not what this podcast is. First, these guys all lean more to the "stats" side of the "stats vs. scouts" debate, and second, they don't limit themselves to minor leaguers. What you get here is three obviously intelligent guys tackling all sorts of topics around baseball from a largely analytical viewpoint, with dashes of scouting information. So if you're expecting them to discuss tools for an hour, you'll be disappointed, but if you like advanced analysis and are a general baseball nut, you will enjoy what they bring to the table.

Since their strength tends to be more in general analysis than hard scouting, their top 100 list special comes across as much more forced than the other seven episodes they have produced to date, and they probably shouldn't have done it. Upon listening to it, though, it's clear it's not the trainwreck the one negative review of this podcast claims it is. In fact, they specifically say Robbie Erlin is NOT a top 15 prospect and that Eric Surkamp in the top 100 is "too high," so that complaint is out of left field. Perhaps more preposterously, "they" didn't have a list at all, so any idea that "their" list was bad is ridiculous. They spent the episode reviewing OTHER top 100 lists. It's telling that the one negative review here is based on no grounds and that the others seem to agree these guys do a good job every week. Keep up the good work.
