Super Entertaining

First of all, I have to admit I don't even watch Riverdale. I started listening to this podcast because I listen to The Afictionado's The 100 podcast and enjoyed their banter and opinions so much I came just to enjoy the experience. The effervescence of the hosts is refreshing and more entertaining than I thought, and their insight and analysis is quite impressive. Super happy to have found this show and will listen to any others they do. (And they're super nice IRL!)

Best Podcast Ever!

Brittany Rae and Robyn Jeffrey are the two hosts who run the Afictionados Podcast Network that currently covers the TV shows The 100, Riverdale, and Lost, of which I am a devout listener of the first two. I first discovered Brittany and Robyn back when they were part of The Giantist Podcast. They did not start out together as a podcasting team, but came together and have since proved to be the best podcasting team I have ever had the sincere joy listening to.

Podcasts can be touchy things; listeners can be readily turned off by voice, style, attitude, personal opinions, lack of enthusiasm, lack of depth, or just bad production. You will find none of these issues with Afictionados Podcast Network. In fact, I love the way they preface each podcast episode with a witty excerpt from the podcast itself. Those always put me right in the mood.

Brittany and Robyn are both funny, quick-witted, and honest. Brutally honest sometimes, but they do it in such a way that makes you giggle, and their banter back and forth is like a highly tuned comedy team who have been together for years.

What I enjoy the most about Brittany and Robyn is the level of excitement they convey in each podcast episode. They are true fans of the shows they cover, so much so that each podcast sounds as if they’ve stepped into the show as observers, and are walking through the world of the episode, providing clever, thoughtful analysis of both the characters and plot as if it were all real and tangible. To me, that’s the very definition of fandom.

Brittany and Robyn are not shippy, meaning they respect people’s choices as to what characters fans find popular or not popular. Brittany and Robyn have their favorites and not so favorites, but they do not beat listeners with a stick over them either way. They say their two cents and move on. If they do address a social problem facing people today it’s in response to that very topic being raised within an episode, and they do it with consideration and authenticity with respect to all of their listeners.

What I also find so enjoyable about the Afictionados Podcast Network is that their episodes are both timeless, and replayable, meaning I can replay any, single podcast of theirs, even from two seasons ago and their analysis would still be relatable and enjoyable as if I heard it for the first time. I simply cannot recommend the Afictionados Podcast Network highly enough. Give them a shot!
