A Beer Podcast Served At Just The Right Temperament

I've been hooked to the Beer Temple podcast for several weeks now, and I can't say enough about how entertaining and informative it is. As a fledgling beer enthusiast, I'm always looking for guidance to better understand the identifying characteristics of different beers, as well as the best way to get the most out of my beer drinking experience. This podcast does just that. Chris takes a very interactive role, going through the history of the beers he is tasting, before diving into the complexities that make that beer exceptional. From hue to scent, and ultimately to taste, Chris not only tells you what he is noting, but walks you through it. Several times now, I have gone out and bought the beers he is reviewing, just so I can experience them as the podcast goes and compare my experience with his.

Better yet, Chris doesn't shy away from letting you know when he is disappointed in a particular beer. It something very few beer podcasts do anymore, preferring to highlight only the better parts of a beer, in order to avoid controversy or losing brownie points with particular vendors. Instead, Chris tells you how he sees it, and leaves it to the viewer to try it out and compare experiences. Most importantly though, this is a guy who loves beer and knows about beer. He isn't pretentious in his manner, which only adds value to his opinion. It isn't about him; its about the beer, and that's what makes this podcast exceptional.

Makes beer interesting

I never knew there was so much to know about beer. My appreciation and knowledge for beer has been vastly expanded by this podcast. Great show.

A beer podcast for non-beer-drinkers? Why yes!

I would not consider myself a beer fan. In fact, the truth of the matter is the only beer I ever thought I could stomach was Miller Lite (I know, I know, let the jeering begin). Chris (and Margaret)'s podcast has not only helped me to find a couple of beers that I can be proud to admit I like :-), but has also explained some of the fundamentals of beer crafting and tasting that I never knew. Thanks, guys!
