The BinderCast is the only podcast exclusively devoted to women and gender non-conforming writers across genres and writing fields. In each episode, co-hosts Lux Alptraum and Leigh Stein tackle the essential questions of making it as a writer: when should you write for free? How do you balance your art with your day job? Who will give you permission to tell your story? The BinderCast is a production of Out of the Binders, a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to increasing the diversity of voices in the media. Must listen for writers
I know The BinderCast just started, but I can already tell it’s going to be one I stop and listen to the moment a new episode is up. Both Roxane Gay and Emily Gould, the show’s first guests, offer great insights into their writing processes and how readers and expectations and social media interact with their approach to their work. I especially appreciated Gould’s newfound outlook on first person writing, having done my fair share of it. Writing can be an incredibly lonely experience so it’s wonderful to hear writers actual voices offering insight into how they got to where they are today, without sugarcoating. If you’re a writer (or really, even if you’re not), definitely give BinderCast a listen to find out insights into how various writers approach their work.
Can’t wait for more!
I'm so grateful that this exists! The masterminds behind BinderCon have created an incredible resource for writers. Can't wait for more episodes!
